Address Soil Degradation and Promote Sustainable Land Management in Cameroon

We, the undersigned, are deeply concerned about the growing problem of soil degradation across Cameroon. Deforestation, unsustainable farming, and industrial waste are destroying fertile land, threatening food security, water quality, and rural livelihoods.

Healthy soil is the foundation of life. It sustains our crops, protects our environment, and supports economic growth. Without immediate action, many areas risk losing their productivity and natural balance.

We call on the Ministry to take urgent action by:

  • Promoting sustainable farming and soil restoration programs;

  • Strengthening regulations against harmful agricultural chemicals;

  • Encouraging tree planting and reforestation in degraded areas; and

  • Raising national awareness about soil protection and climate resilience.

With your leadership and commitment, Cameroon can become a strong example in environmental protection and sustainable development.

Why is this important?

Why Protecting Soil Matters

Soil is the foundation of life. It provides the food we eat, filters the water we drink, and supports plants, animals, and communities. In Cameroon, soil erosion, pollution, and deforestation are destroying fertile land, putting farmers’ livelihoods and national food security at risk. Without healthy soil, sustainable development and a stable environment are impossible.

Why You Should Join the Campaign

Every person depends on the land, and every person has a role in protecting it. By joining this campaign, you can help restore degraded areas, promote sustainable farming, and build a greener future for our communities and generations to come. Together, our collective voices are stronger, and our actions can drive real change at both local and national levels.
